My dad just forwarded an email with 4 easy signs to tell if someone is having a stroke. As a close friend of mine (in excellent shape) just had a stroke AND this is something all of us are trying to avoid with a low cholesterol lifestyle, I thought I should pass it along.
STROKE IDENTIFICATION – CALL 911:
During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall – she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics). She said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.
Bright and early yesterday morning, I had my fasting blood test. After 2 months of low-fat, low cholesterol dining, along with a somewhat increased exercise plan, I’m hoping my LDL and Total Cholesterol numbers will have declined. But I am expecting them to have held steady or increased, given: a) my not-quite-total commitment to lo-co lifestyle — Phish Food still included, exercise hasn’t hit that holy-grail daily level, and b) the ‘Roller Coaster‘ experience.
In preparation for the phone call I expect from my doctor, I dove into the June 2009 Red Yeast Rice study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
